Christmas Wish List 2017

December 23, 2017

It's the day before Christmas, and today I want to share with you what's on my wish list for this year

Photography is one of my biggest hobbies, and I’ve been wanting to upgrade my camera equipment for almost a year now. I’ve therefore put a camera lens on top of my wish list this year. I’ve been eyeing the Canon EF-M 22mm Pancake Lens ever since I bought my Canon EOS M3 camera. The lens has a aperture of f/2.0, which will add dimension, blur out the background and create sharp, in focus photos.

Becca is a brand that recently came to the Norwegian market, and after trying out the popular Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector and Backlight Priming Filter Primer, I've been eager to try out some more products from them. I'm a huge fan of highlighters and primers, and I've therefore put the Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade Moonstone and the First Light Priming Filter Primer on my list.

I've gotten more and more into skincare over the last year, and some skincare items that are on my list for this year are the Origins Flower Fushion Sheet MasksLancôme Bi-Facial Visage, and the MAC Cosmetics Canded Nectar Lip Scrubtious. I've been falling more and more in love with sheet masks as they are easy to remove and make your skin feel clean, refreshed and nourished. I'm also a huge fan of micellar waters to remove my makeup. I've been very impressed with the micellar waters from Lancôme, and have therefore put the Lancôme Bi-Facil Visage Micellar Water on the list, which I haven't tried yet.

I’ve also put a few of my all time favorites on my list, as I’m running out and need new ones. The first being my beloved Pure Plush Deep Cleanser from bareMinerals, which does a great job at cleansing without leaving my skin feeling dry. I've put the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation on my list, as it’s one of the best skin-like foundations I’ve ever tried. I've also put a few Sigma brushes on my list, two of them being the Round Kabuki F82, and the Small Eyeliner E10 brush. Sigma is definitely one of my favorite brands when it comes to makeup brushes, as they have amazing quality for a cheap prize.

Lastly I've put the Daniel Wellington Classic Black Sheffield watch, together with the Rose Gold Classic Cuff on the list. I'm all about design, and I instantly fell in love with the watch and the cuff after seing them on Instagram. They are more on the pricey side, but I think it's definitely worth it as the design is gorgeous and of good quality!

What's on your wish list this year?

my gorgeous birthday present

On October 11th I turned 20 years old, and I'm now officially an adult! I had a great time celebrating my birthday with my best friends at my favorite restaurant, as well as chilling at home with my boyfriend in the evening. I got some lovely gifts from my family, and I was lucky to get to choose two gorgeous rings from Pandora, as my birthday gift from my boyfriend. I picked out a plain wishbone shaped ring for more of an everyday vibe, and a diamond wishbone shaped one for special occasions, or when I want to wear something a bit more sparkly. The two rings also go great together for when I want to wear both. They are definitely my new favorite pieces of jewelry!

A New Scent

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet

"Created for an irresistibly charming and flirtatious woman, Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet embodies the couture spirit of Dior in a sparkling and sensual essence. Unfurling a delicate blend of Sicilian orange essence to reveal a tender floral heart, the fragrance unveils notes of pink peony and Damascus rose. As a finishing touch, white musks softly envelop this light and sensual floral bouquet."

 - Sephora

One of my favorite products when it comes to beauty are perfumes. I love a good scent - it doesn't only smell good, it also makes me feel good. I own a tiny collection of 5 perfumes, where mostly of them are floral scented ones. I recently picked up a new perfume for my collection, and this time I went for Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. I instantly fell in love with this scent at the first smell, and after finishing my tiny sample of the perfume, I just had to go get a full size. Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is a chic and romantic Eau de Toilette with hints of pink peony, damascus rose, white musks and sicilian orange essence. I love the packaging of the perfume - it's so gorgeous, and I love the luxurious feel to it. As this is an Eau de Toilette, the scent doesn't last as long as a perfume does, and it has to be reapplied throughout the day if you want it to last all day. The scent is one of my favorites out of my other perfumes, and it'll definitely be my new go-to for when I'm going somewhere special!

Have you tried out Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet?

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation

October 5, 2017

Today I'm sharing with you a first impression of the newest foundation in my makeup collection - the NYX Cosmetics Total Control Drop Foundation. I was very intrigues after seeing this all over Instagram and YouTube, as I'm always on the look for a good budget-friendly foundation with a shade pale enough for my skin tone. NYX Total Control Drop Foundation comes in 24 different shades with 3 different undertones. I honestly have to say that I struggled to figure out which shade to go for, as there was 3 pale shades that were almost identical. After some swatching and decision-making I decided to go for the shade 03 Porcelain, which ended up being a perfect match. The foundation is supposed to be matte, but I found it to be semi-matte, letting the glow underneath peak through. The foundation has a thin watery consistancy, and is supposed to be buildable depending on how many drops you use. It comes with only 13 ML of product, which I think is crazy for the price point at 189 NOK. As the foundation is quite thin, you'll need many drops to cover your whole face and achieve a medium to full coverage, so I'd imagine running out of the foundation quickly.

I've tried this foundation two times now, and so far I'm impressed! The foundation meltes nicely into the skin, and leaves a natural and flawless finish which looks like skin. It didn't feel like I was wearing any foundation, neither did it look like it! To cover my whole face I used about three to four drops, and to further build up the coverage where I needed it, I used about two more drops. I have to say that this foundation isn't building up to be full coverage, at least not on my skin. I honestly don't mind that as I love a light foundation, and like to cover my pimples and spots with concealer, but if you're a full coverage gal, this might not be your new holy grail. The foundation lasted a good 8+ hours without touch-up, which is what I expect from a foundation. So far I'm really liking this foundation, and it will definitely be my new go-to foundation for an everyday natural makeup look!

My Favorite Drugstore Blushes

September 3, 2017

For me, blush is one of the steps in my face routine that makes the whole look complete. Over the years I've found two brands whose blushes I absolutely love. I don't own many blushes as I feel like I can work with the ones I already have in my collection, but if I do get myself a new blush it's usually from these two brands. The brands I'm talking about are MAC Cosmetics and IsaDora. My first ever high-end blush was from MAC, which is still one of my favorites, but I do believe that drugstore products can be just as good as high-end products, and that's how I feel about the IsaDora Perfect Blushes.

The Perfect Blush range by IsaDora has a great shade selection with over 10 shades of pinks, corals, and browns. They come in two different finishes - a matte finish and a pearl finish, where the blush has little specks of shimmers in it, which gives a natural glow to the cheek. The formula is creamy, velvety and soft, giving a flawless looking finish to the cheek. What I love about these blushes are that they're pigmented, but not too pigmented, so it's easy to build up the color. I also love how easy it blends into the skin, and how it gives a fresh look to the face. The quality of these blushes are so amazing, and recently I've been reaching towards these more than my high-end blushes.

Unfortunately, you can only find IsaDora in Europe, Middle East, and Asia according to their website, but if you're lucky to find the brand either in store or online, I would totally recommend getting their blushes as they're so good and affordable.

The Fall Home Decor Wish List

August 22, 2017

RÅSKOG trolley from IKEA | Black & White Cushion Cover from H&M Home | Dark Green Cushion Cover from IKEA | Tall Stoneware Vase & Large Stoneware Plant Pot from H&M Home | GRADVIS Vase from IKEA | Gold Metal Wire Basket from H&M Home | Black & Gold Metal Tealight Holder from H&M Home | 18-Pack Scented Tea Light from H&M Home | Jacquard-weave Throw Blanket from H&M | DRACAENA MARGINATA Pot Plant from IKEA | Tall Candlestick from H&M Home | Posters from DESENIO

We're slowly but surely going into the fall months. Fall is one of my favorite seasons, with indoor weather, hot chocolate drinks, and cozy moments. After moving into my own apartment I've gotten more and more into interior design and home decor. For a long time, I've been a huge fan of minimalism and whites when decorating, but recently I've gotten more into black and grays with a pop of color. Now that we're getting into fall I want to fresh up my apartment with some new and cozy decorations. I want to put some more color into my home, and I've fallen for the colors green, brown and gold.

Above you can see a collage of a few decorating items that I've got on my wish list at the moment. I love shopping for cheap but good quality decorations, and for me, IKEA and H&M Home are my favorite stores for that. I'm really looking forward to decorating my apartment for fall and making it ultra cozy, and I can't wait for the fall weather to kick in, with long evenings of relaxing, lighting candles and have a good time.

The Prettiest MAC Collection So Far

August 11, 2017

I don't usually like to commit to limited edition products in case I end up loving them and have to accept that once they're gone, they're gone. But sometimes there are some products that you just can't pass on, and that you know your collection will need. A recent limited edition collection from MAC that I instantly fell in love, and knew I had to get my hands on, is the Fruity Juicy Collection.

First of all, I love the packaging. The design is so unique and pretty, and the tropical theme gives me a summery feel. The collection came with a good variety of products and even brought back some old LE products - the Delicates and Delphic Studio Sculpt Bronzing Powders, and Fix + Coconut. Out of all the MAC limited edition collections I own, this is hands down my favorite.

The first product I picked up from the collection was the Studio Sculpt Bronzing Powder in the shade Delicates. The bronzer is described as a neutral deep bronze with fine gold shimmer on the MAC Cosmetics website, but I find the bronzer to be a light warm bronze, which is perfect for pale and light skin tones. I love wearing this bronzer on an everyday basis when I feel like wearing a natural bronzed look. The bronzer leaves my skin looking healthy with a natural glow.

As a lover of the original Fix + from MAC, I knew I had to get the limited edition Fix + with coconut scent. Fix + is a finishing spray that can be used before or after makeup. The spray soothes, refreshes and finishes makeup. I love using Fix + after finishing my makeup to melt everything into the skin. The Coconut Fix + has a lovely smell of coconut and feels very refreshing when sprayed on to the skin. My favorite thing about this product is the packaging. After I've used this up, I'll definitely put it on display on my makeup table, as it's just too pretty to keep in a drawer!

What's New In My Makeup Collection

August 5, 2017

It's always exciting to add new products to the makeup collection. I'm not as huge of a makeup hoarder as I used to be back in the days (my wallet sure thanks me), but every once in a while, I like to treat myself to some new products to try out. This time, I decided to pick up some products that have been on my wishlist for a while, some even years.

I recently picked up a product that I haven't purchased in a while, which is a new primer. I felt like my primer drawer was getting a little lonely, so I wanted to invest in a new one. I've been a fan of Make Up For Evers primers ever since I got my first one back in 2015. Now I own three primers from their Step 1 Skin Equalizer series - the Smoothing Primer, Hydrating Primer, and the newly purchased Nourishing Primer. Make Up For Ever Nourishing Primer is supposed to instantly replenish dry and dehydrated skin while hydrating and reviving. I'm a huge fan of makeup products that hydrates, so I'm really excited to try this out.

Anastasia Beverly Hills is hands down my favorite brand when it comes to brow products. I recently ran out of my Brow Wiz and decided it was time to try out a new brow product from them. I picked up their Brow Definer on my last shopping trip, which I've been eyeing for months now. First impression wise, I really like this product. I was a little skeptic at first because of the product shape, but it's actually quite easy to use. The brush tip is rectangular, which can be used to create fine hair-like strokes, thicker strokes, or broad strokes. With this, you can achieve a natural or bold look, depending on how light handed you are, and how much product you use. The spoolie it comes with is bigger than the Brow Wiz one, and it does a good job at blending and distribute the product.

I've been trying to build up my custom made MAC palette for about a year now, and I finally got a new shade to put in it. This time I got the shade Swiss Chocolate, which to be honest, I've been wanting ever since I saw it on YouTube back in 2013. I have no idea why I didn't get it before now, but at least now I have it, and I think it's become one of my favorites already. Swiss Chocolate is described as a muted reddish brown, and has a matte finish. I feel like theres a lot of hit or miss when it comes to MAC eyeshadows, but this particular one is pigmented and easy to blend.

When it comes to mascara, I'm very picky. I don't purchase high-end mascaras, simply because it's something I don't want to spend a lot of money on. When choosing a new mascara, I always look at the wand - I don't like big wands, and my favorites are the plastic ones. I wouldn't usually go for a wand like the Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara has, but this mascara has got so many positive reviews, that I just had to try it out. I've been using this mascara every single day since I got it, and I really like it! The mascara gives a good amount of volume to my lashes, does not smudge, and it's very black. Exactly what I look for in a mascara!

A Fresh Start

August 1, 2017

Hi, it's nice to meet you! And if you've been here before, welcome back! It's been a while since I've posted on here, and that's because a lot of stuff has been happening these past months. I've been so busy with moving, starting a new job, and working a lot, that I haven't even had a lot of time for myself. Things are finally settling down, and it feels so good to be writing again.

I created this blog back in November 2016 after wanting to become more serious about blogging and sharing online. I've owned plenty of blogs in the past, mostly Norwegian ones, but I've never been as motivated to do blogging as I was when I started ZOANYA. Unfortunately, things didn't go the way I wanted. I shared about three to four posts the first month, and then it went months between each post. I wasn't really happy with the content I was making, which made me unmotivated. I was already stressed about my old job (which I honestly hated), so I decided to put blogging on the side, and only update when I felt like it. I'm now in a place in my life where I'm happy, relaxed and enjoying life, and I'm finally ready to start focusing on blogging again. Blogging has always been a huge passion for me, and I honestly don't want to give it up. I've deleted all of my old posts except one, which is my 2017 Goals and Resolutions. I decided to keep that post as it's still relevant, and motivating me to reach those goals.

My main focus on the blog has always been beauty, but I'm now hoping to experiment more around fashion and lifestyle posts, as well as beauty. I hope you want to follow me on this journey, and I'm really excited to start posting again!

2017 Goals & Resolutions

January 14, 2017

Hello friends, and hello 2017! I'm back at the blog after a huge gap between this post and the last post I posted. I wasn't a good blogger in 2016, and even though I only started in December, three posts a month are way to little! Now I'm back, and I'm hoping this years content and posting schedule will be much better.

I feel like I've never been one hundred precent satisfied with the content I've posted both on here, my old blog and on Instagram. I've had a picture in my head of how I want my blogging and Instagram style to be for a while now, but I've never actually tried to accomplish that, and I think that's because I've felt so confident in the style that I've been posting for a while - I feel like that style is something I've become good at, and something that's been easy and always a safe choice when it comes to the photos I'm taking or posts I'm writing. This year I want to try to accomplish the style that I've been picturing for a while, and I feel very motivated to do so.

I'm going to stop ramble, because in this post I want to share with you my goals and resolutions for 2017, both when it comes to social media, and my personal life. I would also love to hear what your goals and resolutions for 2017 are!

/ Something that I really want to work on in 2017 is my Instagram game. Even though I haven't been blogging, I've been trying to update my Instagram every now and then. In 2016 I would post about 2 photos or less a week, which I wasn't happy about, so my goal for 2017 is to post more often to Instagram - I'm thinking 4-7 posts a week.

/ When it comes to the blog I want to post about various subjects, like beauty, fashion, interior, lifestyle and so on. Beauty is my number one hobby, which I have focused on, on both the blog and Instagram. But I do have other hobbies that I also want to include, and that way there is something for everyone to read about, either that person is more of a fashion or a beauty person.

/ I want to become a better photographer in 2017. I do know camera settings as I've learned so in school and by myself, but sometimes it's been easier to use the auto setting instead of manual settings - I definitely have to work on that. I want to experience more with angles, backgrounds and props, and I also want to save money to get myself a ring light, so that my lighting will always be on point.

/ I want to get better at both finding and looking at inspiration when I feel uninspired or unmotivated. I want to create a board on Pinterest where I'll put the photos and blog posts that inspires me the most, so that I can always get inspired when it's needed. Down below I've put together a collage of photos that inspires me at the moment. It also resembles the style that I want to include in my own photos.

What are your goals and resolutions for 2017?
