what I want to do in November
Can you believe we’re in the second to last chapter of 2018? This year has gone by so fast, and soon the holidays are here. The weather is getting colder, the scenery less autumnal, and the winter breeze is slowly but surely making an appearance. It’s time to prepare for the holidays, have cozy nights in, and get the most out of the rest of 2018. I have made a tiny list of things I want to get done in November, and I thought I would share them with you.
- Buy Christmas Decorations
I’ve been living in my own place for one and a half year now and nearly don’t own any Christmas decorations at all. I didn’t do much decorating last year, only adding a fake tiny Christmas Three with some silver ornaments on it. This year I want to decorate as much as I can, so a trip to a few homeware stores to buy some decorations is a must.
- Visit The Christmas Market
The local Christmas market in Oslo is opening on 17th November, and I want to make a trip over before going on a mini-vacation to my hometown at the end of November. I went last year with one of my friends to take a look, and we ate some really good churros, had a stroll around and took a look at the market where they sold Christmas decorations, winter clothes, Norwegian souvenirs, and foods. The weather was freezing cold at -12 Celcius when we went last December, so I’m really hoping the weather will be a bit warmer this year!
- Movie Nights – with hot chocolate of course.
I love a night in, and this month I want to take some time in the evenings to cuddle up on the couch with hot chocolate and watch some movies. A must on the list is Christmas movies, but I probably won’t start watching those until late November, so a bit of browsing on Netflix will do the justice until then! Let me know if you have any movie recommendations!
- Start A Winter Refresh
Cleaning, clearing out, organizing and tidying up is a project I want to start and get done before the new year. Clearing out of closets, give the apartment a deep clean, declutter and so on is on the to-do list for that. I also want to re-decorate the apartment so that it looks inspiring and fresh!
These past few months have been so hectic for me. Going to school, studying at home and working full weeks has been so tiring and stressful for me that I’m now on the edge of getting burnt-out. I need to start listening to my body and will, therefore, try to de-stress some more. I’m traveling to my hometown at the end of November, and I’m going to spend every minute I can on that trip to de-stress and spend time with the people I love the most – my family and friends.
What’s on your to-do list for November?
